The Late Show with Stephen Colbert had a lot to say about Donald Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden over the weekend. Stephen Colbert's monologue outlined how the event may end up costing the ex-president a chance at winning the election.

Trump filled up New York City's famous Madison Square Garden, bringing along a parade of speakers who created one controversy after another. By the time Trump actually took the stage, many believed the damage was already done.

The most shocking moment came from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe. The insult comic didn't hold back, referring to Puerto Rico as a floating island of garbage.

"Those comments could have massive repercussions for Trump," Colbert said. "Because more than 470,000 people of Puerto Rican descent live in Pennsylvania alone. And you're not going to win over a half a million people by insulting their homeland."

Colbert makes it clear that Trump's path toward a White House return would be endangered if he lost Pennsylvania to Vice President Kamala Harris. And the late-night TV host isn't the only one who took notice. The comedian highlighted several Puerto Rican celebrities who came out in support of Harris in the aftermath of the rally, including Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, and RIcky Martin.

Stephen Colbert rips into MAGA speakers at Trump's MSG rally

After explaining how the rally could cost Trump the election, Stephen Colbert turned his attention to the other speakers. It was a parade of familiar faces from Trump World (and Colbert's monologue).

Rudy Guiliani was first up. Colbert joked that the disgraced former NYC mayor may have been looking for a place to stay. The comedian then noted that Giuliani's attempt to invoke a train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio didn't go over well when Giuliani called it a subway derailment in "New Palestine."

Hulk Hogan was next up on the chopping block. Colbert seemed more saddened than amused by the wrestler struggling to rip his shirt. As the Late Show host put it, maybe it's time to take away the keys to Hulk's shirt.

Colbert's evaluation of Trump's speech was brutal and the most sincere-sounding he's been in recent memory. "Trump was exhausted, repetitious, and just awful. I am so sick of that guy," Colbert said before refusing to show any clips of Trump's speech.

If Colbert's monologue comes true and the rally does play a part in Trump losing the election, then he may get his wish. Donald Trump may be pushed out of the national spotlight and give The Late Show a chance to move on.
