Walton Goggins on Saturday makes his debut as host of Saturday Night Live. However, don't expect one of his biggest co-stars to make a cameo.
Goggins, 53, has been active in the entertainment industry for nearly 35 years. Along the way, he's made a name for himself starring in The Shield, Justified, Fallout, The Righteous Gemstones, and The White Lotus.
Each show put Goggins alongside some of the most talented people on television. But don't look for a certain White Lotus star to check in at Studio 8H this weekend.
When asked if she'd make a cameo on SNL, Aimee Lou Wood told Entertainment Tonight "I couldn't say," before dropping the act. "But also I’m not, I’m not doing that.”
2 reasons why Aimee Lou Wood won't cameo on Saturday Night Live
Of course, there is the very obvious explanation that Aimee Lou Wood won't pop up on Saturday Night Live this weekend: She hasn't been asked.
But let's assume it was a possibility and that the SNL writers thought recreating the chemistry between Wood and Walton Goggins was a good idea for a sketch. There are two key reasons why it's a pipe dream.
One, Wood and Goggins are rumored to be feuding and perhaps didn't quite get along as well on The White Lotus as some of the other cast members. But Wood told ET "I loved working with Walton. It was the best thing ever," before predicting a successful night hosting SNL.
Then there is the whole backlash to SNL's White Lotus sketch from earlier this season. A predominately political parody of the HBO series seemed to go out of its way to mock Wood's appearance.
The actress spoke out against the sketch on social media. She later revealed the show and cast member Sarah Sherman reached out, suggesting it's all water under the bridge now. Still, it could be a case of "too soon" for Wood to want an SNL cameo.
Saturday Night Live with host Walton Goggins airs May 10.
