Nothing brings out the stars quite like a Saturday Night Live Five Timers Club meeting. So when Martin Short joined the club this week, SNL put together one reunion after another as a parade of cameos came out to celebrate.

Short, a former cast member, finally joined the illustrious club this weekend. He first hosted in 1986 and has become SNL's "Mr. December" as each hosting turn has come during the holiday month.

The combination of Short's fifth time hosting, the Christmas episode, and this being SNL's 50th season created the perfect recipe for cameos. And SNL over-delivered in the cold open and in the process, organized several TV and movie reunions for fans to enjoy. In no particular order...

Paul Rudd and Martin Short represented Only Murders in the Building. While everyone (including us here at Last Night On) expected Steve Martin to show up, Martin Short quickly nixed those expectations. But his Only Murders co-star Rudd was a nice replacement.

And let's not forget about Tina Fey. She's also a major player in the Only Murders universe. Short and Fey also have The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in common. Short played Dr. Franff in one episode of the show Fey created.

Fey and Rudd also have some history together. The pair co-starred in 2013's Admission, and Fey had an uncredited cameo in Anchorman 2 ... which also starred Kristen Wiig.

Wiig got a loud applause when she joined the cold open. Wiig shares Sausage Party, Knocked Up, and Forgetting Sarah Marshall credits with Rudd.

Then there was the Bridesmaids reunion when Melissa McCarthy and Wiig shared the stage together. And McCarthy also plays Steve Martin's sister in Only Murders in the Building.

On the other end of the entertainment spectrum, a Marvel Cinematic Universe reunion also occured during the cold open. Rudd, aka Ant-Man, was joined by Scarlett Johansson, aka Black Widow. The pair last appeared together in Avengers: Endgame.

Jimmy Fallon also popped up to give Short his Five Timers Club jacket. And while every other celebrity in the sketch has appeared on The Tonight Show, it was also a reunion between Fallon and his former "Weekend Update" co-anchor, Tina Fey.

Fey was also reunited with her 30 Rock partner Alec Baldwin. That show also featured Emma Stone in a guest role, adding another connection among the cold open cameos. Stone also helped out Martin Short in his variety show, Maya & Marty.

Tom Hanks, who kicked off the cold open, also had a reunion. He co-starred in the Wes Anderson film Asteroid City with Scarlett Johansson.

And let's not forget about John Mulaney. He may not have quite the acting resume as the other stars in the cold open, but he still had his reunion moment with Martin Short. The pair co-starred in the short-lived sitcom Mulaney in 2014. The comedian made sure to note the occasion with a self-deprecating joke.
