Saturday Night Live has turned 50. The beloved series has been on NBC since 1975, and we would be here all day if we tried to rattle off every career it helped to launch. SNL has been a star factory since day one, and now that we're on the cusp of an anniversary, it stands to reason that some of these stars would return.

Lorne Michaels has maintained good relationships with most of the SNL cast members who have passed through since the Ford administration. Even those who seemingly left the show on less than stellar terms, like Eddie Murphy or Adam Sandler, eventually returned to host. With this in mind, who is going to grace SNL fans with a cameo during season 50? Well, Michaels has an answer.

Lorne Michaels promises to bring back 'everyone'

The SNL boss talked about his season 50 plans during a recent interview with The New York Times. The same interview in which he confirmed his plans to stay on as showrunner for the foreseeable future. Michaels was asked who he plans to bring back, and he told the outlet that he plans to bring back "everyone." Seriously:

"We’ll bring everyone back from all 50 years and hosts and all of that. It will be a very emotional and very strong thing."

The first batch of hosts for SNL's 50th season only feature one alum, John Mulaney, so it looks like Michaels is saving these monumental returns for the second half of the season. That or he plans to drop them on viewers out of blue, which is very much in line with other SNL milestones.

Michaels will also bring back beloved hosts

The allusion to bringing back hosts, in addition to former cast members, makes perfect sense given the icon status of hosts like Steve Martin and Christopher Walken. Alec Baldwin is another all timer when it comes to hosting, but it remains to be seen whether the show will bring him back given his recent legal troubles.

Michaels loves to keep a lid on his SNL plans, but we're hopeful (and fairly confident) that we will get to see beloved figures like Martin, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Hader, Adam Sandler and even Bill Murray return to commemorate the series that made them household names. Who is the SNL cast member you want to see return the most?
