Kenan Thompson is known for his wholesome comedy approach. There's a reason he's been able to last on Saturday Night Live longer than anybody else. That being said, the veteran comic is not afraid of speaking his mind. He proved it during day three of the Democratic National Convention.

Thompson took the stage with a gigantic book that read: "Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise." He dropped the book on the podium, which was meant to contain the 920-page document for Project 2025, and proceeded to lay into Donald Trump and the rest of the Republican party.

Kenan Thompson ridiculed Trump's bid for another term

"You ever seen a document that could kill a small animal and democracy at the same time? Here it is," Thompson said to uproarious laughter and cheers from the crowd. "[These are terms and conditions of a second Trump presidency."

Kenan Thompson spun the book into a whole routine, and interacted with various people as a means of showing how much disdain he held for Trump's policies. "Project 2025 calls for President Trump to purge the civil service of everyone who isn’t a Maga loyalist," the comedian claimed.

The routine had its lulls, especially when technical difficulties led Thompson to accidentally speak over one of his guests, but overall, the message was conveyed. The comedian then brought it home in the end by endorsing the Democratic nominee, Kamala Harris:

"Most importantly, you can stop it from ever happening by electing Kamala Harris as the next President of the United States."

Thompson previously criticized Trump's SNL appearance

This is not the first time Kenan Thompson has voiced his dislike for Trump. During a Rolling Stone interview, the comedian revealed that Trump broke his "cardinal rule" when he hosted an episode of SNL in 2015. He claims that Trump answered a phone call during rehearsals, which he considered a sign of disrespect.

"That’s so unfair for the writer, who might’ve been up all night trying to type that s**t," Thompson noted. "To not recognize the effort that goes into it is pretty sh**ty."
