The presidential election took an unexpected turn when Joe Biden stepped down, and Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee. The Republican nominee, Donald Trump, has been forced to alter his approach, and the result have been, well less than smooth.

Ronny Chieng is one of countless comedians who took notice of some of Trump's attempts to disrcredit Kamala Harris in the media. He actually dedicated an entire segment to the former Prez's game plan during a recent episode of the Daily Show.

Ronny Chieng mocked Trump's "gotcha" Truth Social post

Chieng, in particular, was puzzled by Donald Trump's attempts to question Kamala Harris' ethnic background. Trump went as far as post a video of Harris and actress Mindy Kaling cooking a meal together, in an effort to raise suspicion around the nominee's identity. It didn't really work.

"How did he even find this?," Chieng asked. "Was he doing a deep oppo research on Mindy Kaling’s Instagram page? How far down the Mindy rabbit hole did he go?" The Daily Show host also noted that the video does nothing to support Trump's unfounded claims that Harris is not African American:

"He’s saying Kamala identifies as Indian and not Black. And this is a video of her saying, 'I’m half Indian.' What does Trump think the other half is? Woman?"

Chieng also threw in a Kendrick Lamar joke

Chieng doesn't stop there. The Daily Show host goes on to question why the concept of being mixed does not click for Donald Trump. At least, in a public capacity. "He constantly tells us he’s a genius, but he can’t comprehend a golden doodle?," he quipped.

Chieng then caught the Daily Show viewers off guard by making a reference to rapper Kendrick Lamar. "Trump doesn’t get to decide how Black a Black person is," he asserted. "Only Kendrick Lamar can do that, OK?" This, of course, being a reference to Lamar's recent beef with Drake, in which he poked fun at Drake's biracial background.
