Saturday Night Live season 50 is still more than a month away, but that hasn't slowed speculation on potential hosts. One popular stand-up comedian says that SNL has already reached out to her about hosting.

According to comedian Nikki Glaser, Saturday Night Live has expressed interest in her hosting during the upcoming 50th season of the sketch show. Glaser revealed the information during Deadline's Contenders Television: The Nominees event.

Glaser sounded confident that something will get finalized. As far as how the comedian would perform on stage in Studio 8H? "I think I would kill it," she told Deadline.

It makes sense that SNL would want to capitalize on Glaser's popularity right now. Her stock skyrocketed following the Tom Brady roast on Netflix. Plus, she released her HBO special Someday You'll Die that earned an Emmy nomination.

That kind of success typically leads to more opportunities like hosting Saturday Night Live. Glaser admitted that part of her wants to slow down. But it seems as if the chance to stand in the SNL spotlight would be too much to pass up.

"I just got done working so hard on the special and the roast, and I kind of want a break, but this put so much attention on me that more stuff is coming in and you just got to strike while the iron, and I, and hot," Glaser told Deadline.

In recent years, the best Saturday Night Live episodes have come when a comedian gets a shot to host. Pete Davidson, Nate Bargatze, and Shane GIllis proved that last year.

Glaser has certainly entered that tier of stand-up comedians, if she wasn't already there. It just seems like the rest of the world is finally catching up. Saturday Night Live season 50 would be the icing on the cake for Glaser's recent run of success.
