Jimmy Kimmel is one of the most politically active talk show hosts in recent memory. He's made roasting Donald Trump part of his nightly routine on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and he was recently made the moderator of the upcoming presidential debate between Trump and Joe Biden.

It should then come as no surprise that Jimmy Kimmel will be welcoming Vice President Kamala Harris onto his show. If anything, it's surprising that VP Harris has not been on the talk show even more. She made her Jimmy Kimmel Live! debut back in 2019, and was actually slated to appear in April, but canceled the appearance without given a reason.

The timing of Harris' appearance makes sense, given that she and President Biden are gearing up for the 2024 election. She already made the rounds on some of the other prominent talk shows in 2023, including The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Harris' late night appearances have gotten mixed feedback from audiences. Her appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert included some highly awkward moments, most notably when the host asked what her specific duties were as Vice President.

Harris had an awkward 2023 appearance on late night

Harris gave a loquacious answer that praised President Biden, and the difficult role he has, but she ultimately avoided giving Colbert a clear answer in terms of what her day-to-day duties were. The audience applauded her answer, but the talk show host pointed out the misdirect.

"That's an excellent answer and, uh, the question was what's the job of the vice president," he said. And your answer is part of the job, I'm guessing." Harris laughed, but even though Colbert tried to get a clear answer from her, the VP continued to talk in generalizations and rhetoric. The segment, while awkward, ended with Colbert asked her the very obvious question of whether the vice president was part of an executive or legislative branch of government position.

One would assume that Harris will be a better prepared for her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
