Jon Stewart is a pretty agreeable guy. He doesn't have a problem voicing his opinion, and standing up against others, but even when he's debating political topics, he maintains a charming facade. The one time it dropped, evidently, was during a 2009 episode of The Daily Show.

The veteran host recounted his nightmare experience during a 2012 Q&A with Stephen Colbert. He was asked who his least favorite Daily Show guest was, and without hesitation, Stewart came up with an answer: Hugh Grant. Yes, the Hugh Grant who has headlined dozens of beloved rom-coms. The Hugh Grant known for his likable onscreen persona.

Stewart told his former Daily Show correspondent that Hugh Grant was invited on to promote a film called Did You Hear About the Morgans? The actor was evidently not pleased with the film, and took his frustration out on the staff, as well as Stewart:

"He's giving everyone s**t the whole time, and he's a big pain in the a*s."

Hugh Grant reportedly criticized Stewart for showing a particular clip from Did You Hear About the Morgans? The host, without missing a beat, told the actor to "make a better f**king movie." Stewart stated that he would never have Grant back on the Daily Show. He told Stephen Colbert that Grant was far and away the worst guest he'd ever had, despite having actual dictators on the set.

Hugh Grant eventually apologized to Stewart

Instead of taking offense to Stewart's harsh words, however, Hugh Grant took the criticisms in stride. He took to Twitter after the host's story went viral, and proceeded to apologize for his bad behavior. Not only that, he stated that Stewart was right to bash him for his manners.

"Turns out my inner crab got the better of me with TV producer in 09," he tweeted. "Unforgivable. J. Stewart correct to give me kicking." Grant has never been invited back to The Daily Show, as Stewart alluded to, but there is something to be said for owning up to bad behavior.
