Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, March 16?

Saturday Night Live is coming off a stretch of three consecutive new episodes. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

Thanks to a strong trio of hosts, Saturday Night Live pulled in some of its best ratings of season 49 over the past three weeks. Shane Gillis, Sydney Sweeney, and Josh Brolin all brought something different to the table, and SNL got stronger with each episode.

Unfortunately, we won't get to see if that momentum continues on Saturday night. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Instead, NBC will air rerun episodes twice on Saturday night. The first comes at 10:00 p.m. ET. Tune in to see the season 44 episode hosted by Idris Elba. Khalid served as the musical guest that night.

Then at 11:30, fans can catch a repeat from this season. The January 27 episode hosted by Dakota Johnson with musical guest Justin Timberlake airs.

When will Saturday Night Live return with new episodes?

It's no surprise that there will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. The show rarely rattles off four consecutive new shows once the season gets rolling.

The good news is that we know when SNL will return. Mark your calendars for March 30. Comedian and actor Ramy Youssef will make his SNL debut as host. Travis Scott joins him as musical guest.

SNL comes right back on April 6 with the return of Kristen Wiig as host. The former cast member will have Raye as her musical guest.

Finally, another new SNL is scheduled for April 13. Barbie and The Fall Guy star Ryan Gosling comes back to host. Country star Chris Stapleton will be the musical guest that night.
