Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, January 6, 2024?

New year, new Saturday Night Live? That's what fans are hoping for as we hit the first Saturday of 2024. So what should SNL audiences expect to see tonight on NBC?

Saturday Night Live season 49 entered a holiday hiatus after the December 16, 2023 episode. Former cast member Kate McKinnon returned for the Christmas episode that served up a nice gift of nostalgia to those watching at home.

But the break is not quite over yet for SNL. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Instead, NBC will reair the November 18 episode from earlier this season. The show featured Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa hosting for the second time. He was joined by musical guest Tate McRae, making her SNL debut.

If you're looking for even more SNL rerun content, tune in at 10:00 p.m. ET, too. NBC has the April 15, 2023 episode on the schedule. It was hosted by Ana de Armas with Karol G as the musical guest. The episode was notable for being the final show of season 48 before the Writers Guild of America strike shut things down.

So when will Saturday Night Live return with new episodes? Save the date for January 20, 2024. Actor Jacob Elordi will make his SNL debut as host. He'll be joined by musical guest Reneé Rapp, also making her first visit to Saturday Night Live.
