Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, December 23?

Saturday Night Live episodes make for the perfect gift around the holidays. But what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?
SNL has always excelled at the holidays, delivering memorable sketches year after year. And with Christmas just two days away, many fans are revisiting some of their favorite bits while also hoping for more from Saturday Night Live season 49.
Unfortunately, there won't be any sketches added to the holiday collection tonight. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.
The show is on its annual holiday hiatus. Its Christmas episode aired on December 16 as former cast member Kate McKinnon returned. While there were a few holiday sketches, none entered the ranks of an all-time great. Still, it was a solid episode and reminder of McKinnon's talents.
However, there are still two chances to get a dose of Saturday Night Live tonight. At 9:00 p.m. ET, NBC will air A Saturday Night Live Christmas Special featuring the show's most memorable Christmas sketches.
Then at 11:30, NBC will reair the October 28, 2023 episode. Fans can tune in to revisit comedian Nate Bargatze's excellent performance as host. Foo Fighters were the musical guest that night, with Dave Grohl also popping up in a couple of sketches.
So when will Saturday Night Live return with new episodes? Circle January 20 on your calendar for SNL's next new show. Actor Jacob Elordi will make his debut as host. He'll be joined by musical guest Reneé Rapp.
