It's the first Saturday of April, and late-night TV fans are hoping that means the first new Saturday Night Live episode of the month. So what should fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

SNL returned from a brief hiatus last week with host Ramy Youssef. The funnyman proved that SNL season 49 is at its best when it gives the keys to a comedian. Anyone who didn't know Youssef before certainly came out of the episode with a newfound appreciation for the Poor Things actor.

Tonight should build on that momentum and then some. There will be a brand new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Former cast member Kristen Wiig returns as host. She's out promoting her new Apple TV+ series Palm Royale. In doing so, Wiig will join the prestigious Five Timers Club.

Tonight's musical guest is Raye. Her debut studio album, My 21st Century Blues, took home Album of the Year at the 2023 BRIT Awards. However, you've probably heard her work as a songwriter thanks to collaborations with Beyonce, John Legend, and more.

We've hit the homestretch of Saturday Night Live season 49. The show typically wraps up by the middle of May, so there's a limited number of shows left.

SNL is ensuring that season 49 ends on a high note by bringing back Kristen Wiig this late in the season. Expect a heavy dose of nostalgia as Wiig is likely to reprise at least one of her iconic characters. Target Lady is the odds-on favorite thanks to Wiig's new endorsement deal with the retailer.

And we should be in store for some cameos. Anytime someone gets inducted into the Five Timers Club, some SNL legends show up to help make it special.

Saturday Night Live airs tonight, April 6, at 11:30 p.m. ET. The show is also available on Peacock.
