Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, April 20?

Saturday Night Live is coming off a monster week in which multiple sketches made a splash in pop culture. So what should SNL fans expect to see tonight on NBC?

Ryan Gosling returned to host last week and brought a level of silliness to the show that had been missing in recent weeks. From the Kate McKinnon cameo in the cold open to Heidi Gardner losing it in a "Beavis and Butt-Head" sketch, the cast had as much fun as those watching at home.

But the bad news is that SNL won't be able to keep the good times rolling on Saturday. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

However, there are two chances to watch repeat episodes tonight on NBC. There will be one "vintage" episode" followed by a rerun of a Saturday Night Live season 49 episode.

At 10:00 p.m. ET, tune in to see the season 45 episode hosted by RuPaul. Justin Bieber joined the show as the musical guest that night.

Then at 11:30, NBC will reair season 49 episode 12 hosted by Shane Gillis. The comedian had 21 Savage as his musical guest.

When will Saturday Night Live be back with new episodes?

After three consecutive new episodes, it's no surprise that Saturday Night Live is taking a week off. The show rarely runs more than three episodes in a row. Plus, season 49 is in the home stretch, so the cast, writers, and staff are gearing up for a big finish.

But Saturday Night Live has a return date set on the calendar. A new episode of SNL will air on May 4, 2024.

Dua Lipa will pull double duty as both the host and musical guest. It will be the first time she hosts SNL, but she has been the musical guest twice before.
