After a little over a month hiatus, Saturday Night Live is back! A brand new episode is scheduled to air on NBC on Jan. 20, kicking off the second half of SNL season 49. Naturally, all eyes are on who will be taking over hosting duties for the show's return, and it's none other than the gifted Australian actor Jacob Elordi!

Most people know Jacob Elordi from his role as Nate Jacobs in the hit HBO teen series Euphoria. But before he took on this character, he was known for playing top star athlete and bad boy Noah Flynn in The Kissing Booth film trilogy. Since then, he's gone on to star in many other projects.

Most recently, he starred in the leading role of Elvis Presley in the biographical drama film Priscilla, and as Felix Catton in the black comedy flick Saltburn. He also has some new movies and shows currently in the works that fans can look forward to. He'll be in two new films called On Swift Horses and Oh, Canada, and in an Australian drama miniseries called The Narrow Road to the Deep North.

We can't wait to see Jacob take the SNL stage for the first time, but before this happens, we should all go watch or re-watch some of his best movies and shows. We've even shared a list below of his projects that are worth watching and the ones that aren't to help you out.

Euphoria season 2 /

Euphoria

Watch! Euphoria follows the lives of a group of teenagers as they try their best to navigate love and friendships while also trying to cope with the trials and tribulations of life. The teen show mainly focuses on a 17-year-old drug addict named Rue and her struggles with trying to get sober. Jacob Elordi plays Nate Jacobs, a star football player who viewers later find out has violent tendencies and anger issues. Honestly, this is one of Jacob's best roles even though his character can be quite scary at times.

2 Hearts

Skip! I'm a fan of rom-coms and romantic dramas, but 2 Hearts was just not my cup of tea. And I guess I'm not the only one who thought this way because it received mostly negative reviews from critics. I feel like Jacob didn't give his best performance in this movie, but maybe it's because he didn't really have anything to work with. The writing was terrible, in my opinion, and I didn't really see the chemistry between him and his co-star Tiera Skovbye. Overall, I recommend spending your time watching another one of Jacob's films or another romantic drama movie. Skip right over this one!

Saltburn

Watch! Saltburn is one of those movies that isn't meant to be taken seriously, so you have to rate it at a different level than others. But that's what I loved about it. The story follows a young man named Oliver Quick (Barry Keoghan) who struggles with fitting in at his university and family drama. But then one day, he encounters a charming rich student by the name of Felix Catton, who invites him to spend the summer at his family's estate, Saltburn. Soon after, strange things start happening to Felix and his family.

The Kissing Booth trilogy

Skip! Yes, I recommend skipping all three of The Kissing Booth movies. I mean, you can watch the first one because it wasn't all bad. It's like your typical teen rom-com. But the following two movies were unnecessary. It should've just been one film and that's it. But if you do decide to watch these movies, be prepared for the cringy scenes because there are plenty of them. Jacob himself has said that these films are "ridiculous." So, there's that.

Priscilla movie on A24 /

Priscilla

Watch! As mentioned above, Priscilla is a biographical drama film. It's based on the memoir Elvis and Me by Priscilla Presley and Sandra Harmon, and follows Priscilla Presley's life and her complicated love story with Elvis Presley. While Jacob plays the role of Elvis, Cailee Spaeny portrays Priscilla.

Here's what critics had to say about the movie via Rotten Tomatoes:

"As Priscilla, Cailee Spaeny effortlessly spans her journey from wide-eyed adolescence to disillusioned young womanhood, while Australia’s Jacob Elordi... has no difficulty in evoking Elvis’s glamour."

Sandra Hall from Sydney Morning Herald

"Both lead performances are spot-on, and the hazy vibe of life in Graceland is evocative and effective. It's a story in a minor key; if it feels like bigger things are just out of sight - for both Elvis and Priscilla - that's kind of the point."

DEEP WATER
Deep Water -- Based on the celebrated novel by famed mystery writer Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley), “Deep Water” takes us inside the marriage of picture-perfect Vic (Ben Affleck) and Melinda (Ana de Armas) Van Allen to discover the dangerous mind games they play and what happens to the people that get caught up in them. Deep Water

Skip! Deep Water is supposed to be a psychological thriller film, but there are no unique twists or turns in the movie nor was there enough suspense for it to be considered one. Overall, it's an extremely dull movie that I struggled to get through. I was on my phone for like half of the film. Instead of watching this boring movie, try watching the psychological thriller Fair Play on Netflix.

Here's what Deep Water is about via IMDb:

"A well-to-do husband who allows his wife to have affairs in order to avoid a divorce becomes a prime suspect in the disappearance of her lovers."
