Anne Hathaway forgets 2 of her most iconic films on The Tonight Show
Anne Hathaway has come back around. There was a time when it was fashionable to hate on the Oscar-winning actress, but all that hate has dissipated and she has rightfully taken her place as a beloved performer. Hathaway is the star of the current romantic comedy The Idea of You, and she went on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
Hathaway may have gotten too far into character on the new film, though, because she completely spaced on the details of some of her most beloved roles. Fallon asked her what kind of games she likes to play to pass the time, and the actress revealed that she's far worse at film trivia than she has any right to be.
Evidently, she spaced on basic details from both The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada!
Hathaway missed a trivia question about her own character
Hathaway recalled one particular instance in which she couldn't miss a question. Well, until she got to one that should've have been a walk in the park. "I got to this one question and they were like, 'Oh ok so junior assistant [in] The Devil Wears Prada,' and [I said] Emily Blunt," she recalled.
The actress then had to be told that the correct answer was actually herself. "And they were like 'no,' and it wasn't her it was me!"
Hathaway names Princess Diaries as her most-quoted film
The trivia mishaps didn't end there. Hathaway noted that The Princess Diaries is the most common film that fans quote to her, but she often doesn't realize she's been hit with a quote until they clarify. "People quote it to me all the time, but I don't know what they're talking about," she revealed. "I haven't seen it in a minute!"
To be fair to Hathaway, the actress noted that she doesn't make a habit of looking back on her career, and prefers to focus on whatever her next project is. It has, evidently, paid off for her.
She continues to be in high demand, and is slated to appear in the upcoming science fiction drama Flowervale Street opposite Ewan McGregor and Maisy Stella, as well as the melodrama Mother Mary opposite Michaela Coel and Hunter Schaefer. Both films are set for release in 2025.
She's also teased The Princess Diaries 3 opposite Julie Andrews, so she will definitely have to brush up on her Genovia history ASAP!
