What's so funny about golf? A lot, apparently, as two Saturday Night Live greats recently announced upcoming golf projects.

Netflix announced Will Ferrell will star in his first scripted comedy series. GOLF will see Ferrell as a fictional golf legend. He'll be joined by Ramy Youssef in the 10-episode series.

Also coming to Netflix will be a Happy Gilmore sequel. Adam Sandler will return as the hockey player-turned-golfer. The original film became a cult classic after it hit theaters in 1996. Shooter McGavin actor Christopher McDonald previously teased the sequel after revealing Sandler showed him a draft of the film.

Netflix did not include information about release dates for GOLF or Happy Gilmore 2. However, it's not out of the question to expect the projects to go live on the streaming giant some time in the second half o 2025.

What else is next for Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell?

For decades, Adam Sandler and Will Ferrell have been some of the busiest actors in all of comedy. Surprisingly, the pair have never shared the big screen together. But clearly, they have similar tastes when it comes to comedy as they prepare their separate golf projects.

Before Sandler gets back in the tee box as Happy Gilmore, he has a few other projects on the horizon. He co-stars in a still-untitled Noah Baumbach movie alongside George Clooney, Riley Keough, Laura Dern, Isla Fisher, Patrick Wilson, and Greta Gerwig.

Then, he teams up with the Safdie brothers again. The trio's follow-up to Uncut Gems will also co-star Megan Thee Stallion.

Meanwhile, Will Ferrell's schedule is even busier. An adaptation of The 100 Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, Gus Van Sant's The Prince of Fashion, and You're Cordially Invited with Reese Witherspoon are all on deck for Ferrell.
