Back in December 2022, Sam Altman made waves in the world of tech by introducing us to ChatGPT. Since then, the OpenAI boss has faced criticism, questions, and praise for his move in the market, but he has also faced competition.
Most recently, Google has boosted its AI software, launching Gemini 3, and Apple continues to boost its Siri AI software. So, now it’s time for the OpenAI chief to sit down and talk to a late night talk show host. It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years and he still hasn’t made his debut physically on late night TV, according to The Late Nighter.
Sam Altman will sit down on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
Out of all the late night shows on the market, there is one that stands out to be perfect for the tech mastermind. It’s all about Jimmy Fallon, who has regularly shown his interest in technology and working with the minds of Silicon Valley. He will use his show to debut gadgets, which is the perfect way to connect with the younger audience members, who are all about AI and tech.
So, it makes sense for Altman to make his late night debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. We know that Fallon will be respectful, but he will also ask some of the hardest questions about AI and what it could mean for, well, everyone. After all, AI is one of those topics that has come up time and time again in Hollywood, especially during the strike action of summer 2023, and it’s important to balance the curiosities of tech with the downsides of it.

When will Sam Altman be on The Tonight Show?
There isn’t long to wait to hear more from the OpenAI chief. He’ll sit down with Fallon on Monday, Dec. 8.
This episode will also see Mila Kunis sit down to chat with Fallon, who has just appeared in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. She also still voices the character Meg Griffin on Family Guy, and she always has some fun stories to tell about her life with Ashton Kutcher.
As for the musical guest, St. Paul & The Broken Bones will take on that duty.
Of course, the biggest draw for many is going to be the interview with Altman, especially as it’s his first time to sit on a late night TV couch.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on NBC.
