Late-night TV took its annual extended break around the holidays but now is ready to take on 2025. That is, except for one show that will have a delayed start.
Shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon all restart on Monday, January 6. Jon Stewart also returns for 2025 with a brand-new episode of The Daily Show.
That just leaves out Late Night with Seth Meyers. Unlike the rest of late-night TV, Seth Meyers and his team won't be back on the air with a new episode come Monday night.
Instead of a new episode, NBC will reair Day Drinking with Seth Meyers New Year’s Special. It originally aired on New Year's Eve and looked back at Meyers' best moments day drinking with Rihanna, Kristen Stewart, Will Forte, and more.
When will Late Night with Seth Meyers return?
The schedule is bad news for anyone hoping to start the week with "A Closer Look" or hear Seth Meyers break down the election certification process that happened earlier in the day. The good news is that fans don't have to wait long for Late Night to return.
New episodes are set to begin on Tuesday, January 7. Meyers likely needed an extra day after he was in Los Angeles for the Golden Globes on Sunday, January 5. He was up for a Globe in the best stand-up category, which ultimately went to Ali Wong.
Meyers will have a stacked lineup to make up for missing a night. His first show of 2025 will feature Quinta Brunson and Matt Rogers.
Pamela Anderson and Rose Matafeo are on the schedule for Wednesday night. And Late Night finishes its week on Thursday with Sebastian Stan and Auli'i Cravalho.
Late Night with Seth Meyers airs at 12:35 a.m. ET on NBC. Content is also available on Peacock.
