The comedian didn't understand why the race was still close.

Jimmy Kimmel has been rallying against Donald Trump for the last decade. Jimmy Kimmel Live! has become a hub for anti-Trump comedy, but the comedian was a bit more tense than usual in the lead up to the U.S. election. He admitted that he was nervous regarding the results.

The talk show host likened the anticipation of waiting for the outcome to a rather unpleasant and stressful medical procedure. "It feels like the whole country is waiting to get the results of a biopsy," he quipped. Kimmel may not have been as bouncy as usual during his Monday night show, but he did take time out to recap some of the reasons he believes Trump is the wrong person for the job of U.S. President (again).

Kimmel likened the election to getting a biopsy

Kimmel mocked Trump by rattling off the unflattering statistics that have accumulated since he was last president. "And now, 720 days, 88 criminal charges, 34 felony convictions, four indictments, two Democratic opponents and one garbage truck later, here we are. Election day," he asserted to fans.

Kimmel's frustration came out a bit when he expressed befuddlement over the close race. He was was stupefied by the fact that his preferred candidate, Kamala Harris, was not running away with the election in light of the allegations and criminal charges that have been leveled at Trump. He even chose to add another one to the mix for good measure.

The host took a few more shots at Trump

He referenced a resurfaced interview in which Jeffrey Epstein called Trump a "friend," and stated that the former President had no moral compass when it came to sleeping with the wives of other men. It was an irony that was not lost on Kimmel or his audience. Kimmel's response:

"Do you know what kind of lowlife you have to be for Jeffrey Epstein to say you have no moral compass?"

The talk show host tried to keep things relatively light, but he concluded his Monday night monologue by urging the nation to move on. He wants to get past this difficult period, and remove the "cancerous polyp from our collective national colon."

One thing is for sure, the next few episodes of Jimmy Kimmel Live! are going to have a very different tone.
