Jimmy Kimmel is taking Jimmy Kimmel Live back to Brooklyn — and he’s not coming alone!

After making his big return from summer hiatus, Kimmel had a lot of ground to cover in his opening monologue, including addressing the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and President Donald Trump’s allegations that Kimmel was next to go. While roasting Trump, Kimmel also revealed that he’s taking his show back to Brooklyn this fall, and he’s lined up a very special guest for Jimmy Kimmel Live’s return to New York.

“Unfortunately for Frosty the Snowflake, the only place we are going is to New York. Once again, we’re packing up our Hailey Bieber smoothies and heading to Brooklyn for a week of shows at BAM, the Brooklyn Academy of Music, starting Sept. 29, ending Oct. 3,” Kimmel revealed before sharing with his audience that Colbert is among the amazing guests lined up for the Brooklyn shows.

“One of our guests that week — we have great guests lined up — will be my good friend Stephen Colbert. We have a lot to talk about,” Kimmel noted, referring to the cancellation of Colbert’s late-night show.

The episode is sure to be one of the biggest events of the late-night calendar this year as it’ll mark the first time Colbert will be dropping by as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live following The Late Show’s cancellation. Kimmel has been a strong advocate for Colbert, pushing for Emmy voters to support Colbert in this year’s race and calling out CBS for their decision. He even worked in a jab at the network in his monologue, pointing out the shady nature in which they canceled The Late Show.

“Of course, the number one thing people asked me about this summer was what happened to Stephen Colbert at CBS. CBS all of a sudden, out of the blue, claimed The Late Show was losing $40 million a year and then miraculously got FCC approval to sell their company.”

There’s no telling where Kimmel and Colbert’s conversation will go when the pair sit down together, but it’s clear that the pair will not hold back. In fact, Kimmel has already warned the White House intern in charge of strategically unplugging the president’s TV that they’ll want to unplug the TV that night when Trump’s two least favorite late-night hosts join forces.

We imagine Colbert will be the lead and possibly the sole guest that episode as Kimmel and Colbert will have a lot to talk about. It’ll be interesting to see how much Colbert divulges during the sit-down regarding his thoughts on CBS’s decision to cancel The Late Show. Of course, the cancellation is likely to be just one of the topics on the docket. We can easily see the conversation moving into a broader discussion about late-night TV and Trump, and we might even get some discussions about what Colbert might do after his tenure as host ends.
