Few celebrities have been more consistently critical of Donald Trump than Jimmy Kimmel. The host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! has bashed the former President. The last thing he wanted was an election in which Trump won a second term, and yet that is exactly what happened.

Kimmel addressed this outcome during his November 6 monologue. The host became visibly upset while listing off all the groups he believe will be marginalized now that Trump is in charge again. The host apologized to "women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard working immigrants who make this country go, for health care, for our climate, for science, for journalism, for justice..."

Kimmel claimed Trump's win is a win for 'Putin and Polio'

He described the election as a terrible night for those who voted against Trump, and a terrible night for those who did. In the case of the latter, though, he claimed there was a catch. He told those who voted for Trump that they just don't realize how bad it will be for them, yet.

Kimmel then pivoted, and pessimistically rattled off all the people that Trump's election will be good for. It was not a reputable list of names. He cited Vladimir Putin, "lovable billionaire" Elon Musk, and all the "bros" who live in Silicon Valley. He also alluded to Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. by denigrating all of the "wringing brain worms" who bowed down to Trump during the election cycle.

The comedian got emotional during his monologue

The veteran host was not in a good way, and he made this point evident throughout his monologue, but he did attempt to find a silver lining. He did not pretend that his hopes for the upcoming Trump term will be good, and actually stated that it will be "worse" than the last one. He did, however, state that this could be the wake up call that the country needs.

"Maybe the people who care so much about him need to find out how little he cares about them," he asserted. "Maybe this time, he’ll shock us and actually do some productive things."

None of the talk show hosts were enthused by Donald Trump's victory, but Kimmel's monologue was slightly different in that he took a more upfront, emotional approach than his peers. This approach has proven effective in the past, and it continued to be on Wedesday night.
