Jimmy Kimmel Live! wrapped up its year earlier this month, bringing to a close another season of monologues, pranks, celebrity interviews, and, yes, Donald Trump jokes. But in a surprising twist, the late-night TV show's most-watched moment of the year had nothing to do with the president.
Kimmel has brought his late-night show to a new level during the Trump years. His monologues mocking and rebutting Trump's character and policies have been viewed millions of times. The comedian has even been in several public back-and-forths with Trump.
So one would think that the most popular moment from 2024 would have something to do with Trump and the election. However, that's not the case. Kimmel's most watched clip on YouTube is his March interview with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent.
The interview marked Dr. Dre's first late-night TV appearance in 30 years. The legendary rapper and producer discussed getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, his iconic collaborations, and his approach to making music.
As if that wasn't enough, Snoop Dogg joined him for an extended conversation. The pair discussed how they met, coming up with "The Chronic," and working on new music together.
But Jimmy Kimmel Live! wasn't done there. 50 Cent came out to reflects on Dr. Dre's influence, his career, and performing at the Super Bowl with Dre and Snoop.
Fans loved Jimmy Kimmel's interview with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and 50 Cent
Jimmy Kimmel earned almost unanimous praise from fans for the nearly 30-minute long interview. The YouTube version of the interview boasts over 13 million views.
Rap fans especially appreciated how Kimmel managed to get three of the genre's biggest stars together for one interview. The late-night TV show also wisely gave the segment enough time to cover a wide array of topics with all three stars.
Several comments under the video mentioned the wave of nostalgia from watching three of hip-hop's biggest icons sitting together on one couch.
The interview also probably brought back some fond memories for Kimmel. Snoop Dogg appeared on the first episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2003. And 50 Cent was there for the second episode.
It won't be easy for Jimmy Kimmel to top this moment in 2025. But the late-night host will try when he returns with new episodes in January.
