It may be December, but the late night shows are mostly new. That’s certainly the case for Jimmy Kimmel Live, which will see mostly new episodes all week starting on Monday, Dec. 8.
The show will be going on its winter break soon. As of right now, it’s not 100% clear when the breaks are happening, but we’re expecting starting next week (or the week after). ABC’s primetime schedule is already off, so the late night show is heading into the late fall in a great way!
Monday, December 8
So, let’s take a look at what to expect. On Monday, Dec. 8, Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson will be on the show, and while she’s sure to talk about her ABC comedy, there’s something else that she wants to talk about. She’s launched a fund that will make it possible for public school students to go on field trips for free, and this is something that Kimmel is pastion about.
Then Teyana Taylor will come onto the show to talk about two of her projects. She’s in One Battle After Another and All’s Fair, and there is a lot of break down. After that, we’ll see Tasha Cobbs Leonard and John Legend join forces to bring their new single, “Church.”
Tuesday, December 9
David Letterman is returning to the late-night chairs, but on a different series! Yes, he’s appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he’ll want to talk all about My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. The sixth season drops on Netflix later this month, and there’s just been the release of the Adam Sandler special. Of course, there is a seventh season to come, so there’s plenty to discuss.
Then, Kimmel will talk with Regina Hall about The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants. She is also in One Battle After Another, so that’s sure to come up.
Wednesday, December 10
Hump Day is given to Matthew McConaughey, who is always a delight on these late night shows. He’ll talk about “Poems & Prayers,” he’s new book of diddies and devotions.
Then Pete Buttigieg will appear on the show. The former Secretary of Transportation will chat about his former role, but also the current state of politics. And then, we’ll get a musical performance from Howard Jones.
Thursday, December 11
Jamie Lee Curtis is back on the show, as she talks all about Ella McCay. The movie is a political comedy, which focuses on the current political climate as well as drawing a personal storyline about a mother and daughter.
Rachel Sennott will then chat about I Love LA, which recently scored a second season renewal from HBO. For music, it’s all about The Pretty Reckless, which is sure to share the updated version of “Where Are You Christmas?”
Friday, December 12
The night is still to be confirmed, which isn’t unusual for the last night of the week. In fact, we could end up with a rerun. It all depends on the guests who are available.
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
