Jimmy Kimmel Live! is officially set to return with a brand-new episode Tuesday night after an almost week-long suspension, and fans couldn't be more excited. For the highly anticipated comeback, Kimmel is set to sit down with some very special guests. This amazing news comes just a day after ABC confirmed that the suspension of the beloved late-night talk show had been lifted.
If you're not aware, the suspension occurred due to controversy. Kimmel had made comments about political activist Charlie Kirk’s killer on the Sept. 15 episode, which drew criticism and threats from FCC Chair Brendan Carr. This led to the show being preempted indefinitely. However, ABC and Kimmel talked and reached an agreement to resume the show, allowing Jimmy Kimmel Live! to return to the airwaves.
The comeback episode is scheduled for today, Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2025, and it features some notable names from music, film, and television. Discover who they are down below!
Jimmy Kimmel Live's comeback episode guests

One of the guests is Golden Globe-nominated actor Glenn Powell. He's appearing on the talk show to promote his new Hulu sports comedy series Chad Powers, which he co-created and also leads as the star. The show premieres on the streaming platform on Sept. 30. Powell is best known for his roles in blockbuster films like Top Gun: Maverick, Hidden Figures, Twisters and Anyone but You, as well as his acting work on the short-lived slasher series Scream Queens. Besides Chad Powers, we will see him next in the upcoming action thriller flick The Running Man.

Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Sarah McLachlan will also be joining Kimmel on the Sept. 23 episode to promote the new ABC News documentary Lilith Fair: Building a Mystery, which delves into the history of the groundbreaking female-led musical festival she founded. The doc came out on Sept. 21. You might recognize McLachlan for her timeless hits such as "Angel," "Building a Mystery," and "Adia." On Sept. 19, 2025, her tenth studio album titled Better Broken was released.
According to Deadline, other guests set to appear on the ABC talk show this week include Ethan Hawke from The Lowdown, Lisa Ann Walter from Abbott Elementary, Peyton Manning from Chad Powers, and Oscar Nuñez from The Paper. In addition, Yungblud and Alex G will appear as musical guests.
