Saturday Night Live season 50 has had something for everyone so far. The show's election coverage, cameos, and breakout characters all contribute to the momentum as SNL approaches its 50th-anniversary celebration. But what should fans expect to see on NBC tonight?
Saturday Night Live last aired on Nov. 16. Singer Charli XCX proved to be one of the most talented double-duty hosts in recent memory. Her sketch work showed many fans a different side to her, and it's likely not the last time she'll be on the Studio 8H stage.
Unfortunately, there won't be any follow-up this week. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. The show wrapped up three consecutive weeks of new shows, which typically gets followed by a break.
Instead, NBC will broadcast the college football game between the University of Southern California and the University of California, Los Angeles. The game kicks off just after 10 p.m. and will run through SNL's normal airtime.
And as a reminder, NBC no longer airs vintage Saturday Night Live episodes on Saturday nights. The network produces "Big 10 Saturday Night” to broadcast NCAA football instead.
When will Saturday Night Live be back?
Saturday Night Live fans will have to wait a little bit longer for new episodes. A well-deserved break and the Thanksgiving holiday will put SNL on a mini hiatus.
The next episode of Saturday Night Live is scheduled for December 7. Gladiator II star Paul Mescal will make his SNL debut as host. Shaboozey will also visit SNL for the first time as the musical guest.
Until then, SNL aficionados can still enjoy episodes streaming on Peacock or find their favorite sketches and monologues on Saturday Night Live's official YouTube channel.
