Saturday Night Live is still riding high after its 50th-anniversary special. So what should SNL fans expect to see on NBC tonight?

Last Sunday, Saturday Night Live took over NBC for a three-hour primetime special. Fan-favorite cast members like Eddie Murphy, Will Ferrell, Adam Sandler, Garrett Morris, Kristen Wiig, and more took the stage alongside A-list celebrities including Jon Hamm, Pedro Pascal, Emma Stone, and Adam Driver. It was a good reminder of how special SNL is, even after 50 years on the air.

Unfortunately, the show is still recovering from that massive celebration. There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight.

Instead, NBC will reair the December 7, 2024 episode. The season 50 show featured Gladiator II star Paul Mescal as the host and rapper Shaboozey as the musical guest.

When will Saturday Night Live return?

Saturday Night Live hasn't aired a new episode since Timothee Chalamet pulled double-duty as host and musical guest on January 25. After that, SNL needed time to prepare a concert special and the three-hour anniversary spectacular.

But the good news is that we know when Saturday Night Live wll return. However, just don't expect to see the lights on in Studio 8H until next month.

SNL's first show back from the hiatus will be March 1. Comedian and one-time Saturday Night Live cast member Shane Gillis is back to host for the second time. Pop star Tate McRae will be there as the musical guest.

Then, Lady Gaga returns to Saturday Night Live on March 8. She'll be both the host and the musical guest. She previously had the same honor in November 2013.

Fans can always catch up on Saturday Night Live content by visiting the show's official YouTube channel or streaming episodes on Peacock.
