Saturday Night Live in the spring usually means things are winding down. So what should fans expect to see from SNL season 50 tonight on NBC?
SNL is coming off a quality, if not controversial, episode last week. Jon Hamm returned to host and proved why he's one of Saturday Night Live's best friends over the past decade-plus. But most of the headlines went to the show's White Lotus sketch and the criticism from star Aimee Lou Wood.
Both SNL and Wood seem eager to put it all behind them. However, don't expect to see any more from the show tonight.
There will not be a new episode of Saturday Night Live tonight. Instead, NBC will reair the January 18 episode. Tune in to revisit host Dave Chappelle and musical guest GloRilla.
When will Saturday Night Live return with new episodes?
It's always a hard pill to swallow when Saturday Night Live isn't new. But the good new is that we know when the hiatus will be over.
It shouldn't be all that shocking to hear SNL won't air a new episode the day before Easter. The holiday gives the cast and crew a chance to recharge ahead of the homestretch to close out season 50.
The next new episode of Saturday Night Live is scheduled for May 3. Abbott Elementary creator and star Quinta Brunson will host for the second time. Singer Benson Boone will also be in Studio 8H, making his first appearance as the musical guest.
