Remakes are a rarity in late-night television but Have I Got News For You managed to break the mold when it premiered on CNN last year. Now, the American version of the long-running British series is ready for another round.

CNN adapted the comedy panel series in 2024, tapping former Daily Show correspondent Roy Wood, Jr. to host alongside Late Night with Seth Meyers writer and The Amber Ruffin Show host Amber Ruffin and comedian Michael Ian Black.

Season 2 will premiere on Saturday, February 15. Tune in to CNN at 9:00 p.m. ET to catch the first episode of 2025.

The show's format is similar to what American audiences have seen in other late-night TV shows such as Real Time with Bill Maher or Lights Out with David Spade. The trio of hosts welcomes a rotating panel of guests to take a humorous look at the week's events.

Season 1 featured guests such as Conan star Andy Richter, Daily Show contributor Larry Wilmore, Late Night with Seth Meyers writer and performer Jenny Hagel, and former Saturday Night Live writer Sam Jay,

Have I Got News For You season 1 ran for 10 episodes between September 14, 2024 and November 23, 2024. It received mixed reviews, although most critics applauded Wood's role as the centerpiece.

The show remains an important piece of CNN's effort to bring more entertainment-based programming to its network. The cable news network also airs the "Overtime" portion of Real Time with Bill Maher.

The American version has a long, long way to go to catch up with its British counterpart in terms of popularity and audience awareness. But with a year under their belt, the team of Roy Wood, Jr., Amber Ruffin, and Michael Ian Black should be up to for the challenge.
