Donald Trump pulled another late night host into his Trevor Noah diss (and that host has thoughts)

During the Grammys, Trevor Noah couldn’t help himself but make a Jeffrey Epstein joke. Of course, it included President Donald Trump, who couldn’t help but question whether to sue the comedian for his comments. However, that wasn’t all he did, as he pulled in another late night host into the debate.

As Trump dissed Noah, he also said that Noah wasn’t as bad as Jimmy Kimmel. Of course, Kimmel wasn’t even at the Grammys, and up to that point, he’d just done his usual comments on his own late night show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Well, now Kimmel has his own thoughts.

Jimmy Kimmel wasn’t even at the Grammys

During his montage on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, Feb. 2, the host shared that he didn’t even understand how his name ended up in the comments regarding Trevor Noah. It’s not like he was at the Grammys in the first place.

That wasn’t the only place Jimmy Kimmel was mentioned, either. Trump took to Truth Social to rant about Noah, where he also pulled in Kimmel. The rant went on about “Low Ratings Academy Awards,” which would be a comment about the Oscars that Kimmel has hosted in the past. By the way, the 2024 Oscars broke viewership records, according to Entertainment Weekly, so probably not quite the “low ratings” that Trump goes on about.

What actually happened at the Grammys?

You’ve got to wonder what happened at the Grammys to upset Trump and have Kimmel pulled into it all. It all stemmed from a joke about Epstein Island. During the 2026 event, Noah, who hosted the entire show for the final time, said:

"“That is a Grammy that every artist wants almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense, I mean, because Epstein’s Island is gone, he needs a new one to hang out on with Bill Clinton.”"

Let’s point out the fact that this isn’t even a Republican vs. Democrat situation. Noah called out Bill Clinton as well, since he was listed in the Epstein files recently released. Haven’t most of us said that we want to see all the names, so we know if who we expected was on there, and so we know who to be heavily disappointed in. This isn’t about a witch hunt, but about exposing the truth.

Back to the joke, though, Trump has taken offence to it, sharing that he is contemplating suing Noah for it. That was when he said that Noah had done a “terrible job” of hosting the music awards, but “not as bad as Jimmy Kimmel.”

Well, I guess there’s going to be at least one more year of this and may be more if Kimmel extends his contract past May 2027.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC.
