It's no easy task keeping track of President Donald Trump's enemies these days. One such target who recently found themselves on the receiving end of a slew of attacks will appear on Monday night's episode of The Daily Show.
CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins will sit down with host Jon Stewart on Monday night. It comes just a few days after President Trump singled out Collins during his White House Correspondents Dinner speech.
During the WHCD, Collins received the Award for Excellence in Presidential News Coverage Under Deadline Pressure for her coverage of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s 2025 visit with President Trump at the White House. President Trump used his speech to sarcastically congratulate Collins and claim that the award was "fake."
The president went on about Collins, calling her a "young, attractive woman" but questioning why the CNN anchor never smiles. And he wasn't done there as President Trump went on to compare Collins to transgender activist Dylan Mulvaney.
President Trump's speech fell flat as the audience mostly stayed quiet during his attempts at humor. It served as another reminder that the annual event just isn't the same without a late-night TV personality or professional comedian on the stage.
Collins has responded to President Trump's past remarks questioning her demeanor during press events at the White House. But Monday night will give her a chance to directly address the latest attacks from the president.
Fans should expect Collins to keep things professional, considering her standing at CNN and her job responsibilities in Washington, D.C. However, Jon Stewart may have a much different approach to the interview.
The Daily Show is one of the loudest voices against President Trump in the media, and the Comedy Central show has never been shy about pushing the envelope when it comes to criticizing the current administration.
Stewart, in what will be his only Daily Show appearance this week, probably won't hold back. Look for him to say some of the things Collins may wish she could say in response to President Trump's White House Correspondents Dinner speech.
In addition to the WHCD, Collins can certainly provide interesting insight on other issues going on in Washington and around the world. The wars in Iran and Ukraine, the upcoming midterm elections, and more could all be on the table during her conversation with Stewart.
