When the January 2026 schedule for NBC was released, there was one show in particular that we couldn’t help notice was missing. That’s My Jam season 3 still doesn’t have a release date.
TVLine looked into it for all the fans during the summer, and it seems the reasoning still stands. It turns out that there is a lot of disappointing news about Jimmy Fallon’s game show. However, it’s not disastrous.
That’s My Jam season 3 production is still paused
Back in summer 2024, NBC brought the disappointing news that production on That’s My Jam season 3 had been paused. This was linked to scheduling problems getting celebrities on the series.
Since then, the show has remained on production. At first, season 3 was slated to arrive in 2025, but that has been pushed back to 2026. With the show still on pause, it’s hard to see if 2026 is even going to be possible.
Why is That’s My Jam not filming?
So, why is it still on pause? Jimmy Fallon is a busy man. The Tonight Show host not only has his late-night show, but he is also involved in other NBC shows. Just recently, he hosted On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, which saw him bring a different type of reality show. 10 marketing hopefuls competed against each other to prove they were the Innovator of the Year.
Fallon also has the Holiday Seasoning Spectacular coming up, and there is also another season of Password still in the works — the holiday special arrives next week!
So, with all this in mind, it’s no longer just about scheduling the celebrities for the episodes. NBC needs to find a way to schedule Fallon himself for the series!
Does this mean That’s My Jam will be canceled?
If this was a scripted show, I would definitely be worried about cancellation. These long delays lead to problems with getting the viewership on the show. When it comes to a reality show, especially a game show, the breaks don’t tend to matter as much. It’s all about being entertaining for the audiences.
That’s My Jam pulls in people who want to watch particular celebrities or want to be purely entertained by what’s on their screens. It’s possible to tune into one episode now and then without feeling like you have to then binge the whole season, and NBC knows that people do this. The show costs less to create than scripted (and even some unscripted) programming, so it’s not likely to be canceled just yet.
