Bill Burr is an anomaly in the 2024 comedy world. He speaks his mind, and often makes controversial statements about politicians and cancel culture without much in the way of backlash or derision from fans. This makes a bold choice to host Saturday Night Live days after the U.S. election took place.

Burr was never going to shy away from the fraught period of time in which he would be taking the SNL stage, and he decided to address it immediately during his episode promo. The comedian talks with with cast member Marcello Hernandez about the election, even though the promo was shot before the winner was announced, and they have fun with various visual and sight gags.

Bill Burr claims that he voted for 'everyone'

Burr and Hernandez's attempts to discuss the presidency keep getting interrupted by offscreen sounds whenever someone's name is mentioned. “Dude, I cannot believe that … won," Hernandez says while a crew member blends a smoothie next to him.

Hernandez then asks Bill Burr who he voted for, and the the comedian proceeds to give an outlandish answer:

"I voted for everybody. Just filled them in. No matter what, I’m right! It wasn’t us. We’re on the sidelines."

The comedian has repeatedly bashed Trump

Just in case things weren't silly enough, Burr proceeds to share information on who killed Jeffrey Epstein. He claimed to have learned the identity of the culprit while in a "steam room with Giuliani," but of course, the name is drowned out by more offscreen sound effects.

Burr may have had fun toying with election anxiety, but he's made it clear in the past that he does not support Donald Trump. He's even confronted other comedians on the matter. When Bill Burr went on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2023, he called out the host for giving Trump additional attention, and playing into what Burr believes was the politician's plan.

"You should shut up," Burr told Kimmel, before telling the host that neutrality was the way to defeat Trump. "He’s a narcissist! Neutral energy. Neutral," he opined. We're sure Burr will have more to say about the election results come Saturday night.
