We’re closing in on the end of the year, and you know what that means. While all the late night shows start to go off the air until the new year, Saturday Night Live has a Christmas special. A Saturday Night Live Christmas will air tonight, Thursday, Dec. 18.
This is the event we all look forward to, marking a full start to the Christmas season. We know it’s just a matter of days before Santa is coming down the chimney to leave his gifts, and we’re leaving out the milk and cookies for him to enjoy!
Don’t worry if you can’t watch A Saturday Night Live Christmas on the night that it airs. NBC wants to make sure you can catch this one at a time that suits you.
When will A Saturday Night Live Christmas 2025 air?
The episode airs tonight, Thursday, Dec. 18 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, and it runs for two hours, on NBC. Yes, this is a lot earlier than we’re used to when it comes to this late night show, but it works in line with other specials. After all, the Thanksgiving special aired at the same time.
Can’t watch tonight live? Well, you can always wait until Friday, Dec. 19 when it will be available on Peacock. The drop usually happens around 6 a.m. ET/3 a.m. PT.
Don’t have Peacock? NBC wants you to see this special, and that’s why there’s going to be an encore. You can tune in on Monday, Dec. 22, with the episode airing at 9 p.m. ET/PT again.
NBC is easy to watch without cable, as you can access YouTube TV. Right now, there is still an outage on Fubo TV, so if this is important to you, you need to get in touch with both Fubo and NBC to get the two companies to come to a deal!
What to expect on the SNL Christmas special?
Like with previous specials, A Saturday Night Live Christmas 2025 will feature multiple Christmas-themed sketches. Some of these are new, while others are sketches from the past. It’s a great way to take a trip down memory lane, while getting into the spirit of the season.

There is another Saturday Night Live episode to come
This doesn’t mark the end of SNL in 2025. There is still one more episode to air before the year comes to an end, airing on Saturday, Dec. 20 at the usual time of 11:30 p.m. ET.
Ariana Grande is the guest host for this episode, and Cher is the musical guest. We hope to see some sort of duet between the two, especially considering Grande’s wonderful impersonation of Cher in the past.
