The hits keep on coming for Mike Pence’s presidential bid. And as Jimmy Kimmel‘s monologue pointed out, supporters aren’t coming for the former vice president.

Mike Pence remains in the crowded field of Republican hopefuls for the 2024 presidential election. However, he’s currently underperforming and hasn’t qualified for the next GOP debate. But Pence isn’t willing to throw in the towel, no matter how bad things get.

According to Jimmy Kimmel, things can’t get much worse for Team Pence. The late-night TV host isn’t buying Pence’s claim that anyone is contributing to the campaign. For proof, Kimmel came with photographic evidence.

The comedian’s monologue on Monday night highlighted a recent campaign “event” that produced what Kimmel called “the saddest photo in presidential campaign history.” Kimmel shared an image of Pence speaking at an Iowa drugstore to a less-than-enthusiastic crowd. The groans from the Jimmy Kimmel Live! audience helped tell the story.

Jimmy Kimmel breaks down Mike Pence’s underwhelming campaign stop

Mike Pence already made one iconic photo contribution to late-night TV. Who could forget the infamous fly that landed on Pence’s head during a debate? It inspired a Saturday Night Live sketch and countless monologue jokes from Jimmy Kimmel and others.

Now, Kimmel wants to add this photo to the ranks. The comedian put the image on the giant screen behind him, pointing out how no one appeared to be happy about the event.

Kimmel even highlighted the four empty chairs at the front of the “crowd” listening to the former vice president speak. “It’s like they were hoping 20 people showed up and they only got 14,” Kimmel laughed.

Reading the room, Kimmel joked that “the energy says ‘we were promised doughnuts, and where are the f***ing doughnuts?'” Based on the photo, it can’t be much longer before Mike Pence calls it quits. When that happens, expect Jimmy Kimmel to give the campaign a fond farewell.
