Who’s hosting Saturday Night Live tonight, October 21?
By Matt Moore
Saturday Night Live is back tonight with another brand-new episode. So who will SNL fans see as the latest host in SNL season 49?
Pete Davidson kicked things off last week. The former Saturday Night Live cast member hosted the season 49 premiere, bringing his signature style back to Studio 8H.
Tonight, Bad Bunny gets his first shot at hosting Saturday Night Live. The Grammy Award-winning rapper will also serve as the musical guest.
While it will be Bad Bunny’s first time as the star of SNL, it won’t be his debut on the show. He served as the musical guest back in 2021. Fans also got to see him appear in two sketches that night.
What to expect from Bad Bunny as host of Saturday Night Live
It takes a special kind of talent to both host and perform as the musical guest in an episode of Saturday Night Live. Other artists who recently received the honor include Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow, and Billie Eilish. Bad Bunny certainly qualifies considering his billions of streams on Spotify, countless awards, and massive fanbase.
Don’t expect him to shrink from the spotlight, either. The fact that he appeared in two sketches as a musical guest suggests he’s up for the challenge and eager to perform comedy.
And unlike most other athletes, singers, or rappers who host SNL, Bad Bunny comes to Studio 8H with a solid acting resume. He has appeared in the films F9, Bullet Train, and Cassandro. On TV, he had a recurring role in Narcos: Mexico. It’s also worth mentioning Bad Bunny’s wrestling career. His handful of WWE appearances could come in handy performing live under the bright lights of SNL.
Saturday Night Live airs tonight, October 21, at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC. Peacock subscribers can also find SNL content on the streaming service.
