Late Night with Seth Meyers return date is set

Late Night with Seth Meyers is ready to return. The NBC late-night TV show announced its plan to exit its hiatus following the writers’ strike.
Late Night went dark at the end of April when the Writers Guild of America went on strike to negotiate better wages. Now that the WGA agreed to a new deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), writers are ready to get back to work.
Late Night with Seth Meyers will return on Monday, October 2. A Twitter announcement from the show confirmed that new episodes will be on the way.
Seth Meyers spent the break performing stand-up shows and co-hosting the Strike Force Five podcast. Proceeds from the podcast went to support his staff during the strike. The comedian also personally paid the wages of Late Night staffers during the early days of the strike.
What to expect from the return of Late Night with Seth Meyers
Expect Late Night with Seth Meyers to address the elephant in the room and discuss the WGA strike right off the bat. Undoubtedly, Seth Meyers will applaud the writers who stood firm until they received an acceptable offer.
From there, Meyers will have a lot of catching up to do. So much has happened in the past few months. “A Closer Look” likely would have enjoyed a field day every week with the news coming out of Trump World.
As far as a guest lineup on Late Night with Seth Meyers, that won’t be as easy as jumping into a monologue about Donald Trump, Joe Biden, or Fox News. The Screen Actors Guild remains on strike, preventing actors from appearing on screen or promoting projects.
Instead, Meyers could welcome more comedians, athletes, politicians, and authors to fill up the guest slots. Or he could just use more time on written material from his newly-contracted team of writers.
