We’ve reached the final day of July, but it’s also the first day of a new week. So what should Jeopardy! fans expect to see tonight?

Last week ended with Lucas Patridge winning three consecutive games. It was one of the longer streaks we’ve seen in recent Jeopardy! play. The school counselor from Las Vegas, Nevada has won $66,200 so far.

Unfortunately, we won’t get to see him add to that total on Monday. There will not be a new episode of Jeopardy! tonight.

Instead, fans will see an encore presentation of the October 17, 2022 game. It featured Jessica Stephens, Aaron Gulyas, and Cindy ZhangThe game was played as part of the inaugural Second Chance tournament.

Why isn’t Jeopardy! new tonight?

Friday night’s game brought an end to season 39. So that means fans won’t get any new episodes for the next six weeks. Season 40 is scheduled to begin in September.

However, the ongoing writers’ strike could affect when Jeopardy! returns. The show was already impacted earlier this year when host Mayim Bialik walked away in support of the WGA.

In the meantime, Jeopardy! fans will have to make due with repeat episodes. The good news is that the games will likely be some of the more competitive and exciting ones we witnessed during season 39. That, and a few fan-favorite players, should make things entertaining.

Is there a certain game you hope to see again this summer? Do you have a favorite player from season 39 you want Jeopardy! to revisit? Let us know!
