Jeopardy! kicked off the new week with another brand new episode. Find out who won the game for Monday, July 24.

We’re nearing the end of July, and with it will come the end of Jeopardy! season 39. Whether or not the show returns on schedule for season 40 hinges in part on the ongoing writers’ strike.

Who is the current Jeopardy! champion?

Taylor Clagett, a marketing director originally from Chesapeake Beach, Maryland, entered Monday night’s game as the reigning Jeopardy! champion. His one-day total sat at $10,800.

His competition tonight included Ian Foutz, a teacher from Camarillo, California, and Simona Fine, a graduate student from Great Neck, New York.

Taylor found the “Daily Double” in the “Jeopardy!” round, helping him get to an early lead. He finished the round in first place with $7,300, followed by Simona with $3,200, and Ian with $2,400.

The champ continued to play well enough in “Double Jeopardy!.” He led with $17,500 while Ian jumped into second with $6,800, followed by Simona with $4,000.

“Final Jeopardy!” saw only Taylor correctly answer the clue, giving him the game. He is now a two-day champion with $31,800 in winnings.

What was tonight’s Final Jeopardy! question?

Geography buffs may have liked their chances with tonight’s “Final Jeopardy!” clue. Here it is in the category “Africa Geography”:
