Is Real Time with Bill Maher new tonight, May 26?

Another week has come to a close. Typically, that means the world of late-night TV turns its attention to Real Time with Bill Maher. So what should fans expect to see tonight on HBO?

Real Time has been dark since April 28. Bill Maher and his team went off the air following the Writers Guild of America strike. With no writers, Real Time joined other late-night TV shows by going on hiatus.

The WGA strike has yet to reach a conclusion as writers fight for better wages and an improved residuals contract. Therefore, there will not be a new episode of Real Time with Bill Maher tonight.

Instead, HBO will air Sarah Silverman: We Are Miracles during Bill Maher’s normal 10:00 p.m. ET timeslot.

It’s unclear when the WGA strike will come to an end. If the 2007-2008 strike is any indication, we could be looking at months before late-night TV and the rest of the entertainment industry gets back to normal

Until then, Real Time with Bill Maher fans still have a way to hear from the comedian. Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast continues to release new episodes and publish clips on YouTube.

Recently, Maher has sat down with the likes of David Spade, Kathy Griffin, and Dr. Phil. The podcast offers a different side to Maher and his guests than what is typically seen on Real Time. However, the late-night TV host continues to get a reaction out of just about anyone who listens to him, regardless of the medium.
