The Late Show with Stephen Colbert experienced a disruption last week with the writers’ strike. So what should late-night TV fans expect to see tonight on CBS?

After the Writers Guild of America went on strike, The Late Show joined other late-night TV shows by going dark last week. Stephen Colbert’s show went into reruns as writers across the entertainment industry called for better wages.

Unsurprisingly, the issue didn’t get solved in a week’s time. Therefore, there will not be a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert tonight.

Instead, CBS will reair the April 18 episode. Tune in to see Colbert interview The White House Plumbers stars Justin Theroux and Woody Harrelson and welcome The Walkmen as musical guest.

What’s the latest with the writers’ strike affecting The Late Show?

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert isn’t the only show that came to a screeching halt with the WGA strike. Hundreds of other TV shows and films stopped production at various stages when writers began picketing.

While some shows continued to film, it’s impossible for a late-night show like Stephen Colbert’s to go on without an active writers’ room. So it seems like The Late Show will remain on hiatus as long as the WGA is on strike.
