Speaking to Piers Morgan this week in an exclusive one on one interview, Bill Maher has spoken about his future hosting Real Time on the HBO network.

Appearing on Fox Nation, Maher first claimed he is often perplexed by the idea that he’s been able to host Real Time for so long.

“I feel in no way diminished,” Maher told Morgan on Monday night. “You get better. If you do something for thirty years, you better get better.”

Despite now being 67, Maher doesn’t feel age interrupting his ability to continue hosting his highly popular late-night show.

The HBO host joked that he could see himself on the network “for a billion years”.

Morgan told Maher during the interview that he would watch the show for as long as it aired.

In actual fact, Maher has a contract until at least 2024 after agreeing on a renewal of the political panel show back in 2021.

Bill has made no indication as to whether he will continue on past next year but his recent comments point towards the possibility he will continue on just a little while longer.

After all, the comedian continues to fill an important vessel in political commentary unparalleled to the style of anyone else. Real Time has a unique ability to create interesting and ferocious debate which draws millions in every week.

Maher cuts a deal with CNN, continues with successful podcast

If anything, Bill appears to be taking on even more responsibility now after just recently starting a podcast series.

Since last year, Maher has invited the likes of Jimmy Kimmel, Quentin Tarantino and Kris Jenner to his Hollywood studio.

Real Time’s Overtime segment was also just recently picked up by CNN after it was announced that the news network was considering moving some of its timeslots to entertainment-focused programming.

Whilst Maher’s ratings on the news network have not been overly impressive, his recent deal with CNN proves how influential he can be in an already saturated sphere of political commentary and analysis.
