Jon Stewart continues to shock the social media world with his fiery interview discussions on his hit Apple+ show.

After airing a discussion with former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers on inflation, viewers are once again praising the former Daily Show host.

Many have praised Stewart for his challenging Summers on how to tackle inflation post-COVID. Viewers have commended the comedian’s rebuttal to the claims that the government’s stimulus strategies have contributed to the issue.

“Larry Summers is one of the most influential economists of the past 25 years, as US Treasury Secretary under Clinton, adviser to Obama and commentator. Centre-left (in a US sense) but economically utterly orthodox. Here he is demolished by Jon Stewart. Compelling viewing,” one viewer wrote on Twitter this week.

Others have come out to cheer Stewart’s no-nonsense interview style. “Another reminder that @jonstewart may well be the best TV interviewer in America right now,” MSNBC host, Mehdi Hassan also tweeted.

Stewart’s Apple+ show has proven to be a huge success on digital platforms this year. And despite leaving his famed role on Comedy Central’s The Daily Show all those years ago, the comedian continues to draw in millions with his political commentary.

Jon Stewart is on a roll

This isn’t the first time Stewart has stunned one of his unsuspecting guests this year. The Apple+ host made headlines after making a fool of Nathan Dahm on the issue of drag shows and gun control.

The Oklahoma State Senator was left clueless after Stewart pointed out a number of obvious hypocrisies in the politician’s defence of 2nd Amendment absolutism and staunch opposition to drag shows. It’s quite the watch.

Just last week, Twitter came together to promote the idea that Stewart should attempt a 2024 run for Presidential office.

The political commentator has already shut down any claims that he may run next year, however. Responding to the rumours last year, the host wrote: “No thank you” via Twitter.

Stewart may not want to tangle himself up within Washington, but his voice sure seems to resonate with millions of voters.
