Bill Maher is back to his usual self on Club Random this week after engaging in yet another fiery debate, this time with Bryan Cranston.

Long before Club Random even made its way onto the airwaves, Bill insisted the podcast would completely ignore political topics. However, it seems the HBO host can’t help himself once the tequila glass requires a top-up.

This week, Maher sat down with actor, Bryan Cranston, discussing the ongoing debate surrounding the teaching of critical race theory across the United States.

Florida governor, Ron DeSantis has already implemented a number of restrictions on critical race theory content. Since then, the politician has faced quite the backlash from his Democratic colleagues over a supposed misinterpretation of the teaching material.

Maher attempted to argue that “very far left woke thinking” is to blame for a number of strategies currently being implemented in critical race theory teaching. The HBO host was keen to make clear however that education on African American history is crucial in schools.

Guest keeps drinking to survive Bill Maher’s podcast

Whilst Maher continued his tangent for a number of minutes, Cranston reached over to a bottle, telling Bill: “You can drive me to drink, I tell you to god man.”

Completely unfazed and in usual Bill Maher fashion, the podcast host continued to battle it out on the issue of race in America.

Shortly after, Cranston was able to divert the conversation to a lighter tone, joking he had forgotten was the argument was about.

Remember, we’ve seen similar debates on Club Random before. Maher has long been known for never backing down on a held opinion, often at the expense of what should be a pleasurable experience for the guest.

It was only last year when Maher faced backlash after calling out Bella Thorne on her anxiety. Many called out the podcast host for being insensitive towards the very personal topics which were discussed in the hour.
