Seth Meyers shocked by Trump’s call for Constitution termination
By Sam Linden
In his “A Closer Look” segment, the host of Late Night with Seth Meyers showed his shock and horror at Donald Trump’s plan to terminate the constitution. It appeared that Seth Meyers could not believe anyone, even Trump, could come out with such an insane statement. Seth also gave his opinion on the “Twitter Files” and the Hunter Biden laptop controversy.
Trump wants the constitution to be terminated
The ex-President shared this desire to terminate the constitution on his social media platform, Truth Social. Trump stated: “…a Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution…”
Seth Meyers suggested, “Trump called for the constitution to be torn up so that he could immediately be reinstated as President.”
Meyers was taken aback by the former President’s statement which implied that there are only two options: either throw out the 2020 election or have a new election.
Meyers compared Trump to “a 5-year-old” who asks his parents whether they should have cake or ice cream for dinner. Clearly, Meyers does not see eye to eye with Trump and definitely thinks that there are more than just these two options for dealing with the 2020 election results.
Meyers also honed on the fact that with the use of explicit words such as “termination,” Trump had “left no room for ambiguity.”
The late-night show host was sure that others in the Republican party, like the “Ted Cruzes of the world”, would try to claim that Donald Trump misspoke.
The Twitter Files – The Hunter Biden laptop story
The catalyst for Trump’s sudden uproar regarding the 2020 elections (once again) and his call for the termination of all rules came after Elon Musk and Matt Taibbi released the so-called “Twitter Files.” They included information on Twitter’s agenda, internal messages, and emails during the Hunter Biden laptop story outburst.
The Twitter Files allegedly exposed that both the Trump and Biden administrations requested the removal of certain tweets and information to suppress and cover up any damaging narratives.
Meyer’s response to the Twitter files was very defensive of the Biden administration. The host said, “Trump wants the Constitution terminated because Joe Biden’s campaign…asked Twitter to take down pics of Hunter Biden’s dong.” Meyers followed this up by saying that he didn’t think there was a provision for that in the Constitution.
