Taylor Swift reveals Easter eggs to Jimmy Fallon on new ‘Midnights’ album music video
By Sam Linden
On The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, guest Taylor Swift talked through her new album – Midnights and revealed that there will be a lot of Easter eggs in the music video for ‘Bejewled’.
A music video filled with surprises
The singer revealed that apart from the first music video which is for Anti-Hero, she wanted a video, “that is just for the fans who like certain things like glitter and Easter eggs and lots of little cameos.”
Taylor Swift disclosed some of the cast members for the new video including Oscar winner Laura Dern and Jack Antonoff who will feature in Swift’s “twist on Cinderella” style story.
Breaking Records
Jimmy Fallon made sure to let viewers know all the achievements and records that Taylor Swift’s new album has already managed to obtain.
“In just one day of sales, [midnights] became the top-selling album of the year already!” the host stated.
Fallon continued by saying, “‘Midnights’ broke Spotify’s record for most streams in a day” and “The top 10 songs on both Apple Music and Spotify are from [the new album]”.
Taylor Swift Tour
Taylor said that she’d been overwhelmed both by the success of the album, and also the actions of her fans.
“You’ve done the albums, you’ve done the re-recordings, but also, you haven’t toured in like four years.” Jimmy pointed out.
The Pop star sensation replied with a hype-inducing, “I think I should. do it.”
Swift explained that she has missed touring and being able to connect with fans by seeing them face to face.
Ticketmaster Disaster
The singer-songwriter had tickets for the show recently released on Ticketmaster which went horribly wrong. Due to extremely high traffic on the site at the time of release, Ticketmaster had to stop the sale of tickets and Swift fans started to complain across social media. The whole scenario has actually prompted investigations into the ticket-sale monopoly.
Now, a Senate antitrust panel will look into the broader issues related to the Swift controversy. Ticketmaster has for some time faced quite the backlash over the control it has on live shows across the world. Now politicians across America are keen to investigate things.
Taylor responded to the ordeal on Instagram with a statement:
"“Im not going to make excuses for anyone because we asked them, multiple times, if [Ticketmaster] could handle this kind of demand and we were assured they could…”"
Do you know anyone that was affected by the Ticketmaster crash whilst trying to get tickets for Taylor Swift’s upcoming ‘The Eras Tour’?
