After appearing on Jay Leno’s Garage, Joe Biden received some slack from Fox host, Greg Gutfeld this week.
Gutfeld labelled Joe Biden’s appearance on the CNBC show a “stunt”, with the aim to convince voters that Biden is still mentally cognitive.
The Fox commentator began, admitting he feels the Democratic Party faces a political dilemma, with the midterms on the horizon (November 8).
Speaking on Thursday, he said: “The Dems are like a driver, whose car engine has cracked because they never change the oil, they never got a tune-up and when they heard the noises of the engine, they just turned up the radio.”
The host later called out Jay Leno for playing along with what Gutfeld assumed was a PR move from The White House.
“The whole stunt is to convince voters that he’s not senile… that gramps can still drive the car – and it kinda doesn’t work,” the commentator added.
Gutfeld goes after Dems ahead of midterms
Gutfeld has been openly critical of the Democrats and particularly Joe Biden’s presidency in recent weeks.
Last week, the Fox host labelled Biden “a babbling man at large who doesn’t know who’s in charge”.
Gutfeld! has taken a number of opportunities on weeknights to highlight a number of recent Biden gaffes. The late-night show has attempted to remind viewers of the many taped instances of the president acting incoherently during addresses.
On Wednesday, Gutfeld previewed a segment from a press conference which captured the moment Joe Biden called Kamala Harris the president.
In fact, the Fox News channel has ramped up it’s anti-Biden reporting in recent weeks.
On Friday, Jesse Watters told viewers that Biden was actively destroying the credibility of the Democrats, reporting that the party is engaged in complete chaos behind the scenes.
Gutfeld’s latest comments come after news that he continues to rack in a record-breaking set of viewing ratings this month. Over the summer, the Fox host was crowned the late-night king after overtaking Stephen Colbert in numbers.
With the political panel show airing for just over a year, it’s an impressive achievement given the long-established history of the competition shows.
We’re yet to see if the recent success of conservative shows such as Gutfeld! will in any way foreshadow the success of Republicans in next month’s election.
