Bill Maher sat down with Aaron Rodgers on the most recent episode of his Club Random podcast this week. The HBO host admitted he did not trust recent advice given to him by his cardiologist, claiming to have “other information”.

Maher explained, “This cardiologist is telling me this and that and it doesn’t all jive with what I believe.. from what I talk to many different kinds of doctors and medical experts.”

Rodgers was quick to agree with the host, replying: “As you should.”

“If I don’t do exactly what you say, it’s because I have other information and you don’t have a monopoly on health information. No doctor does, medicine is not that kind of field.”

The host was quick to raise his tone, almost yelling at the guest: “As if there is such a thing as ‘the science’. That pisses me off right away.”

Bill Maher is a known sceptic on a number of medical issues. Earlier this year, he spoke in depth on his personal doubts over modern medicine on The Joe Rogan Experience.

Maher told the podcast host: “Most people are giving us too much credit for where we are medically. My point of view is we are still at the infancy of understanding how the human body works.”

Despite what some may describe as a dangerous path of spouting largely unverifiable scepticism, it’s clear the television personality shows no sign of holding back on his thoughts.
