Jimmy Kimmel returns from vacation tonight
By Matt Moore
Jimmy Kimmel Live! is getting its Jimmy Kimmel back tonight. The late-night TV host returns after his annual summer vacation.
For the past few years, Kimmel’s contract with ABC has stipulated that the host doesn’t have to work the summer months. Instead, he’s spent that time on vacation around the country with friends and family. His Instagram posts usually showcase Kimmel fishing, cooking, or imagining traveling with Magic Johnson.
Kimmel’s show has been in the hands of a rotating cast of guest hosts during the summer. Sean Hayes kicked things off back on June 20. Other hosts included Anthony Anderson, Chelsea Handler, Rob McElhenney, Dana Carvey, and Nikki Glaser.
But Kimmel gets back to work on Tuesday night. After taking off Labor Day, Jimmy Kimmel Live! returns with a brand new episode.
The comedian has a lot of catching up to do considering how busy the summer was this year. Expect him to finally share his thoughts on the FBI search of Mar-a-Lago and former President Donald Trump’s response.
Who’s on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight?
Kimmel will ease back into hosting with some help from his guest lineup. In fact, his first guest is a good friend of the late-night comedian.
First up, Kimmel will chat with Will Arnett. The actor remains as busy as ever, appearing in the 2022 animated films Minions: The Rise of Gru and Chip and Dale. He’s also working as a voice actor and executive producer of Twisted Metal based on the popular video game franchise. On top of all that, he continues to cohost the podcast Smartless with Sean Hayes and Jason Bateman.
Then, Kimmel gets even more comfortable with Chris Bianco. The chef and famed pizza maker is no stranger to Jimmy Kimmel Live!. And given Kimmel’s love of cooking, he should be happy to be back at work tonight.
The musical guest will be Goo Goo Dolls. The rock band released its 14th studio album, Chaos in Bloom, on August 12.
