HBO’s Bill Maher told Jeff Ross on his Club Random podcast this week that his new comedy material is “killing”.

The Real Time host even suggested he could tape a new special anytime, claiming to have a almost entirely different set compared to his #Adulting routine.

He told Ross this week: “I just did a special for the network, HBO, called #Adulting. It was on in April.” Maher went on to admit he normally follows the routine of taping a special every four years.

He admitted however, “I could do one tomorrow, just based on the act I’m doing now. It’s almost all new from the #Adulting special and it’s killing. But it’ll evolve. And I don’t want to do just A-, I wanna do A+.”

Recent social media posts however, would suggest the comedian is failing to attract his usual sized audiences.

Back in July, an exclusive photo shared on Twitter saw a half-empty Vegas crowd for the comedian at The Mirage, supposedly just minutes before showtime.

A recent Twitter post also rumoured that audience members “walked out” of a recent show he was performing at.

Bill Maher tours on until Christmas

Maher continues to tour however, with a number of dates lined up until the end of the year. The HBO star will return to Vegas, making stops in cities such as Chicago and New York. Due to the comedian’s strict no cell phone policy, there is currently no public access to his latest comedy material.

Bill Maher may be no national comedic sensation, and very clearly attempts to ride the train of an outdated art form, but always seems determined to reach further.

In doing so, the comedian launched a new initiative this year, becoming somewhat of a podcasting great with Club Random. Although the set may be tacky, the cameras out of focus and an obvious lack of adequate audio quality, it seems Maher was built for a long-form format.

The host has already welcomed the likes of Bella Thorne, Jimmy Kimmel and Mike Tyson to his home-studio.
